We Never Stand Alone
Many say they believe in God according to a Harris poll in 2006: 35% in Great Britain; 27% in France; 62% in Italy; 48% in Spain; 41% in Germany; and 73% in the USA believed in God. In 2008, 173 million Americans consider themselves Christian, or about 58% of the population. However, only 1.9 million consider themselves members of the church of Christ. That is only a mere 1.1% of those who believe in Christ, and only .63% of America’s population. Consider that this total is divided into institutional, non-institutional, and a variety of schisms. The good news is that they all practically teach the same gospel. The bad new is that only 5 million consider themselves members world wide, which is only .075% of the world’s population. That’s not even 1/10th of 1% who truly are a Christian. If these stats doesn’t wake us up to the meaning of: “FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT”, nothing will. Mt 7:14 Our only consolation is that truth is not found in great numbers, Deut 7:7 but in the Word of God. Jn 17:17 Only 8 were spared during the flood, only 3 were found in Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities near about, the prophets and apostles often stood alone, and Jesus bore our sins by himself. 1 Kin 19:14; Jn 6:67; 2 Tim 4:11; Heb 11:3 We never stand alone when we stand firm on the promises of God, for God plus one is always the majority. 2 Thess 2:15; Heb 13:5; 2 Pet 3:9
