Seek To Be Rich In Faith

The poor desire a better life, but the greedy desire everything. Mankind yearns for riches, power, and fame, but this is not what God desires for us. Riches are the consolation of the wicked, not the righteous. The true measure of a person is not how much they have gained, but by how much they give away. Those who have everything, must give up everything. The only thing we can take with us from this life, is what God gave us. He gave us one soul, one gospel, and one chance to get right with God. If we truly want to be rich, be rich in Faith & Obedience to God.

We Must Come Clean

A sinner is worse when they pretend to be a saint, and a saint is best when they admit they are still a sinner. None is so imperfect as one who pretends that they are without sin. We all sin, and fall short of the glory of God. Jesus’ greatest warnings come to those who professed godliness, but did the works of unrighteousness. God can’t wipe away our sins, unless we first admit we have them. God provided us repentance to turn from our sins, baptism to wash them away, and eternal life to those who continue in the faith. God can’t cleanse us, until we first comes clean.

Retain God In Your Memory

If we don’t want God to forget us, we should not forget His Word. Memory has been called the scribe of the soul, and the source of all wisdom. Yet how can the wisdom of God be found in us, till we first learn the Holy Word of God. It has been said that we retain: 10% of what we read; 20% of what we hear; 30% of what we see; 70% of what we say; 90% of what we say and do. What good is it to read, and hear the Word of God, if we are not going to say, and do it? Retain God in your memory, and reveal it in your obedience to His Word.

There Is Something In A Name

What is in a name? It takes a lifetime to build a good name, but only a second of indiscretion to lose it. A good name is to be chosen above riches, and is better than fine perfume. Adam gave names to every beast, and of birds, and of cattle, and to the mother of all living, yet it was Christ who gave us a name that is far above all names, Christian. There has never been a name given unto mankind that can save, but His Name. Our own name and reputation may fail us, but Jesus gave us a name that is impeccable, everlasting, and is given to only a few__CHRISTIAN. His Church carries His Name, the saints bear His Name,  and you can obtain your right to wear His Name by your obedience to the gospel of Christ.

What is the Least One Can Do, & Still Be a Christian?

Many reason within themselves that Jesus paid it all, so to them, this means there is little left for us to do. Some believe in Jesus, and say, this is enough. Some are baptized into Christ, and say, this is enough. Others wait for their last breath to offer God any service at all, and they say as well, this is enough. God gave us work to do until our life ends, and eternal life when our work is done. An abled workless worker where there is limitless work, is worthless both to man, and to God. We have the Word to learn, the gospel to obey, the doctrine of Christ to preach, and a Christian life to endure. What is the least one can do, and still be a Christian? Nothing shy of it all.

Church of Christ – Right with God

The churches of Christ are not right because we say we are right. We are right because God’s Word confirms we are right. We have the right name, the right faith and the right baptism, and all that continue therein will have the right to eternal life. Give your attendance to the churches of Christ, and know of an assurance you are in the right place, because we are right with God.

Compromised Truth Are Lies Disguised As Truth

To please everyone, is to please no one. When we preach a secular gospel, we are adhering to the will of man, and not to the will of God. Any attempt to change the Word is to charge God with lying, and expect Him to repent or admit error. God is immutable, infallible, and unchangeable. His Word is perfect, tried, and true. To compromise the truth of God in the hope of saving a sinner, loses both the sinner, and ourself. Compromised truth, is nothing but lies disguised as truth. Seek it, obey it, and never attempt to change the perfect will of God.

Jesus is the Way, Truth, & Life

Hear
Jesus.
Believe Jesus.
Confess Jesus.
Turn to Jesus.
Baptized into Jesus.
Walk With Jesus.
Live with Jesus.
Jesus is the Way, Jesus is the Truth, and Jesus is the Life.

Repentance is U-Turning from Sinful Ways, to God’s Way

Deathbed repentance is like burning both ends of a candle while sowing your wild oats, then blowing out a useless candle, and giving God your empty plate. Anyone who would dare to wait till death was knocking at their door to repent is neither sorrowful or regretful for their sins, but rather is telling God, I have nothing left to give to you, but mere words.

Is a thief repentant when they continue to steal? Is a murder repentant when they continue to kill? Is an adulterer repentant when they continue to live in sin? True repentance makes one godly sorrowful enough to cease from sin, and to turn to God. It is U-Turning from sinful ways, to God’s Way. There’s no repentance available once we’ve been laid to rest. No one can ever repent too soon in life, because we never know how soon it may be everlasting too late.

The Lord Shall Judge His People

Mankind fears to be judged by God, but they fear not to judge God. They judge His ways, His wonders, and His Word. Some are quick to say they can’t serve a God who kills little babies, and defenseless people. Some have trouble serving a God who destroys with the winds, drowns with the waters, and the shakes the whole earth in His fierce wrath. Some are quick to judge God’s Word as frivolous rantings of a few mad men, set to limit their freedom to do as they please.

The facts are: God made us, and not we ourselves; His ways are past finding out; He controls the whole universe, and posses the breath and soul of all mankind.  Every Word in the bible emanated from God, and carries with it His promise, and oath that every word is true. And if a little wind, a little water, and a little shaking scares you, consider hell and damnation in a lake of fire which never ends for all those who obey not His Word. Fear God, and keep His commandments lest the wrath of God be upon you.
