The Church of Christ, It’s All About the Doctrine

It’s not in the building. It’s not all about the name. It is not even in the zeal, and sincerity of it’s members. The Churches of Christ follow the strait and narrow way. We follow the same doctrine that Christ taught, the apostles wrote about, and the scriptures verify. The Church of Christ, it’s all about the doctrine.

Take The Bible “As Is”

Speaking in the silence of God is pure wickedness, which will be punished with the silence of outer darkness. Man can’t even direct his own steps, so what makes us believe we can think for ourselves. We must speak where the bible speaks, and be silent where the bible is silent to be pleasing to God. To do more is too much, and to do less is too little. The bible is an “AS IS” proposition. Take the bible “AS IS”, or not at all.

The Bible is For Everyone, Everywhere

In a fast moving, high paced world, one almost has to schedule time to breathe. Yet, the bible is available in every stage of our lives. We can have it at the mall, in the car, in our homes, and any place imaginable. From the highest mountain peak to the lowest valley, and in every language, the bible is there. There is not a valid excuse under the sun that anyone can say, that they don’t have time for God’s Word. The Bible is for everyone, everywhere, and at anytime. Read it, study it, obey it, and live it.

Place God 1st In Your Life

God takes second to none. We must place God ahead of our father and mother, our spouse and children, our brothers and sisters, and even ourselves. Until we choose to lose at this life, we can never win our eternal life. Until we are buried with Christ by baptism, and take up our cross, we will lose our eternal soul. Until we place God first in our lives, we will finish last with God.

One Step Closer To God

God never commanded man anything unless He instructed him how to do it. God commanded Noah to build, Moses to lead, and Joshua to march, and He told each of them how to accomplish it. God commands us today to obey the gospel of Christ, and has showed us each step we must take. Noah, Moses and Joshua obeyed God explicitly, but the question is, will we? Each commandment we keep, gets us one step closer to God.

Truth vs Lies

There is Truth, and there are Lies, and nothing in between but Ignorance. God is truth, but the Devil is a liar. The gospel is true, and all other plans of salvation are false. There is a right and a wrong, fact and fiction, truth and lies. There is a time to accept that which is right, and reject that which is wrong, and that time is right now.

Sin By Any Other Name

Many try to hide behind words to redefine, and justify what God strictly prohibited. They call fornication: cohabitation (a prelude to marriage). They call a prostitute: a call girl (showing her artistic and free expression). They call homosexuals: gay (Claim they were born this way). A thief is called: a kleptomaniac (a mental disposition to steal what they don’t need).A drunk is called: an alcoholic (A disease of which they have little control). The world can disguise it, redefine it, and even justify it, but God still calls it sin.

The Bible: Trust it, Believe it, & Obey it.

If you can’t trust it, you can’t believe it. The bible contains all truth, no lies, no exaggerations, and never contradicts itself. All scriptures emanated straight from God, and no writer of the bible wrote without the full approbation of God. The Holy Spirit only spoke to man what he directly heard from God. Christ never spoke unless he first heard it from God. The fathers, the prophets, and holy apostles only spoke what they heard from God. God keeps all of His promises, never lies, and confirms every word in the bible as absolute truth with His oath, and His promise. The bible, the Holy Word of God, trust it, believe it, and obey it.

Christian Beauty

The world has its measurement for beauty that is based upon the eye. It last but for a season, it fades quickly, and can be easily duplicated with make-up or plastic surgery. God’s measure for beauty is not based upon the eye, but His Word. It last forever, it never fades, and nothing can duplicate it. Let the beauty of the Lord our God shine upon all who wear His name, and do His will. Christian beauty begins when we conform to the Word of God.

The Proper Christian Diet

Mankind gives us warnings to eat a balanced diet, exercise our body, and get a good night’s rest, and those who give heed are greatly benefited from the advice. How is it that when God warns us to read His Word, exercise our minds to study the scriptures, and to awake from the ignorance of sin, we heed not to His Word? The proper Christian diet begins with the Word of God.
