The Sins of Sodom Are Upon Us

The world we now live in is in for a certain destruction. The dye has been set in stone and forever leaves it’s stain, and the sin is mightily before our eyes today. The sin I speak of is called homosexuality and lesbianism. This malignancy upon this world has now spread to every nation. We have a president who is promoting it in his trips around the world. America is the billboard to the gay lifestyle. Yet, that is not even half the problem we are about to face. Today it is legal in some states for same sex marriage. History tells us that many countries in the past have had forms of gay marriages, but none on the mass scale that is about to unveil itself today.

We are only a generation away from where every country in the world will have gay marriage. What is even more shocking is that gay marriage is being accepted by more and more religions. In fact, gay marriage could be coming to a church near you. Just look at the ones accepting it today in various forms: The United Church in Christ, The Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations, the Jewish denominations allows it and The Episcopal Church and The Presbyterian Church bless same sex marriage but don’t officially promote it. The Pew Research Center statistics in June 2013 showed more than half of Catholics and white non-evangelical Protestants in favor. The Pew report also found 32 percent of black Protestants and 23 percent of white evangelicals to be in support.

Eventually, once gay marriage become legal in every state, and sadly it will, most every denominational religion will condone it. Why? It is profitable for them to do so. Just like it is profitable for all religions of today to condone and redefine what constitutes an adulterous marriage. There was a time when religions were the backbone of the moral fiber of human civilization. This is not true today. If it’s a sin today, many are just holding their nose and closing their eyes and allowing sin to enter into the churches as if God himself condoned it.

Just turn on your T.V, radio, or the internet and you will see the gay lifestyle being promoted. The Supreme Court is condoning it, The executive branch is condoning and promoting it, and many members of Congress from both sides of the aisle are condoning it or doing nothing to stop it. So, who is not condoning and promoting it and never will? God’s Word! Yes, the buck stops with God’s Word, and there is no one they can appeal to who will over turn God’s Word. It was Moses who wrote by the direction of God, “You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.” Lev 18:22 “ If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.”Lev 20:13 Paul wrote the same when he said, “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.” Rom 1:26-27 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.” 1 Cor 6:9-10 Jude warned of the homosexual’s impending end when he said, “As Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” Jude 7

Conclusion: Homosexuality has attempted to do three things and evidently have broken through in all of them in part or in whole. One is to change public opinion in their favor. Two, is to get the government to change it’s laws. Three, is to get religion to change it’s laws. If it fails on the later, they are prepared to eventually get the bible banned, and all those who promote it’s use thrown into prison. Today, homosexuality is being promoted in our schools as well. All future generations will be taught that such abominable practices is as normal as breathing itself. Sodom and Gomorrah and it’s sins are upon this generation, and soon will be the wrath of the Almighty. Remember the words of Paul who wrote concerning the sins of Israel , “Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinks he stands take heed unless he fall.” 1 Cor 10:11-12 If we commit the wicked sins of Sodom, shall we not also receive the same destruction? Yes, the Sins of Sodom are upon us now, so how far behind can be God’s punishment that is soon to follow! As Paul concluded, so do I, “Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” Rom 1:32
