Punishment Delayed, Judgment Sure

What would happen if tomorrow you woke up to find that every homosexual and lesbian, every adulterer and adulteress, and every murderer and rapist in the world were dead of natural causes? Would it really change anything to know that all who were sinning, whether great or small woke up dead? Imagine the hysteria and fear upon the living if God killed every sinner in the world at one time.

Yet God has done this to mankind before, and it changed nothing whatsoever. God destroyed the world, except for 8 souls by the means of water, and yet man continued to sin. God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, except for 3 souls by means of fire, and yet man continued to sin.

Instead of mankind becoming law abiding citizens, they find ways to make their crimes undetectable, or better yet, they find ways to legalize their crimes by rewriting the law.

The same applies to the church. Instead of abiding by God’s laws, many seek to rewrite or redefine what God has made so plain. Instead of speaking where the bible speaks, they choose to speak their own words, and abiding by their own doctrine. 1 Pet 4:11; 1 Cor 4:6′ Jer 44:16,17 Many call those who abide by God’s law, legalist. If this were true, it would make all who don’t abide by God’s law, illegals. Instead of repenting of their sins and turning back to God, many seek to hide their sins, and turn others to their evil deeds. Lk:13:3; 1 Tim 5:24; Mt 23:15;

Conclusion: It’s evident that mankind has laws, and punishments in place in an attempt to keep society civilized, and at best it’s a challenge every day to do so.

As for God, He has a better established government than mankind, but unlike mankind, He has delayed his punishment for those who disobey Him. Many think because God has delayed his punishment for lawbreakers that this means God is endorsing their evil. Eccl 8:11,12 This couldn’t be further from the truth.

They that forsake the law will praise the wicked, but all  those who keep God’s law will contend for the faith, seek to win souls, and persuade all who will hear. Prov 28:4; Jude 3; Jam 5:19,20; Prov 11:30 They do this because they KNOW God will judge his people by His Word, and they KNOW the TERROR of God. Heb 10:29-31; Jn 12:48  Remember the warning of Jesus: “What I say to you I say unto all, WATCH”, for God watches YOU, and will take vengeance on all who don’t know Him, and don’t obey the gospel of Christ. Mk 13:37; Rom 2:16; 1 Pet 3:12; 2 Thess 1:7-9 God’s punishment is delayed, but His judgment is sure. Heb 10:30
