Goodness & Severity of God

How strict is God? Such a question to ask in a world which often makes idle threats without following through. God is strict enough to destroy all of creation by water, with the exception of 8. He is strict enough to drown the entire army of Egypt in the Red Sea. He is strict enough to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities near about with fire and brimstone.  Strict enough to say that those who know not God, and have not obeyed the gospel of Christ will be cast into the lake of fire which burns with fire and brimstone. Yes, God says what he means, and means what he says, and has the well earned reputation of punishing the wicked, and rewarding the righteous. To know God is to fear God, and keep his commandments, and his commandments are not grievous. To answer the question forthright, either turn or burn.  Obey the gospel, and be rewarded eternally in heaven, or reject the gospel, and be burned in hell for an eternity. That is the goodness, and severity of God!
