Speaking where the bible speaks, and silent where the bible is silent.

All of our life we are taught to be all we can be in this life. We are taught to reach for the stars, and accomplish all that we can. We are taught to get a good education, and turn that education into a good living. It is with that knowledge we get married, have children, and grow old and die. If you want the true meaning of life, God possesses the answer for you. If you want to know what life is all about, God holds the solution. So what is it that God wants from you?

God Wants You To Learn of Him

It was Jeremiah the prophet which said, “But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the Lord, exercising loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,” says the Lord. Jer 9:24 Jesus said, take my yoke upon you and learn of me. God wants us to learn of Him and His divine Word. Until we read the bible, study the bible, and rightly divide the Word of truth, we can’t fully obey the One who holds the power of eternal life. Rev 1:3; 1 Tim 4:13; 2 Tim 2:15; Tit 1:2

God Wants Your Faith in Him

Without faith, it’s impossible to please God. Heb 11:6 Jesus said, “Except you believe that I am he, you shall die in your sins.” Jn 8:24; Every servant of God who was found acceptable with God had to first place their faith in God. Heb 11 Anyone who doesn’t believe in God is automatically condemned, no matter what else they do in life. Jn 3:18 God wants us to believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and to confess this belief before men. Rom 10:9,10; Mt 10:32,33

God Wants Your Obedience

If all that one had to do was to believe Jesus is the Christ and they would be saved, it is evident billions would be saved. Yet, the bible made it very clear that only a few would find the strait and narrow way which leads to life everlasting. Mt 7:13,14 Jesus said, “He that believes and is baptized shall be saved.” James wrote that our faith was dead without works, but he wasn’t speaking of the works of men. Jam 2:19,20 He was speaking of the works of God. Even faith was called works. Jn 6:28,29 Luke wrote, “…That they should repent and turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.” Acts 26:20 “Having been buried with him in baptism, wherein you were also raised with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead” (Col. 2:12 Therefore, faith+repentance+baptism are all the works approved of by God which leads us to salvation. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Eph 2:10

God Wants Your Faithfulness

God made it abundantly clear that he wants us to be faithful to him. Christ, our husband demands faithfulness of his bride, the church. If we obey the gospel of Christ, if we endure temptations, and if we endure persecutions, we shall receive a crown of life. 2 Thess 1:7-9; Jam 1:12; 2 Tim 3:12 Make no mistake about it, we can all fall from grace. Gal 5:4 Consider the goodness and severity of God, who cut off Israel for their disobedience and grafted the Gentiles in their place. However, if we don’t continue in God’s goodness, we also shall be cut off. Rom 11:22

Conclusion: Peter said it well, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long-suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:9 God is not willing to cast any into hell, but will cast all into hell who obey not the gospel of Jesus Christ. 2 Thess 1:7-9 God shall judge us all by His Word according to our deeds. Jn 12:48

God wanted his Son to die on the cross, and he did. Jn 3:16 God wanted his apostles to preach the Word into all the world and they did. Col 1:23 It’s not what we want out of life that matters, but rather what God wants out of us. God wants us to obey the gospel of Christ, and remain faithful to it. Everything else is meaningless if we don’t please the One who gave life unto us all.  Ps 100:3; 1 Pet 4:19
