You’re entitled to your own opinion but you are not entitled to your own set of facts. Especially when it comes to the Word of God.
Some say ‘faith only’ saves. That is their opinion, but biblical facts says differently. Jesus said, “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mk 16:16). This Jesus commanded to be preached unto all the world and to every person (Matt 28:19,20 f; Mk 16:15). James said, “You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe — and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead?” (Jam 2:19,20).
Some say that they can marry and remarry for any reason. That is their opinion, but biblical facts says differently. Jesus said, “Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, commits adultery: and whoso marries her which is put away doth commit adultery” (Matt 19:8-9). Paul wrote, “For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband” (Rom 7:2-3). Adding to this Paul wrote, “A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord” (1 Cor 7:39).
Some say the church can worship with instrumental music. That is their opinion, but biblical facts says differently. Paul in writing to the Ephesians said, “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” (Eph 5:19). He also wrote to the Colossians, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord” (Col 3:16). And then Paul gave us the reason why vocal singing was preferable to God over instrumental music. “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him” (Col 3:17).
Conclusion: An opinion is like an oral contract: It isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. Everyone has an opinion, but God’s Word supersedes our opinion. Don’t take my opinion on it, take God’s!
