If you fed your children poison, would not society arrest you for murdering your children? If you fed them candy, would not society blame you when their teeth fell out and they began to have health complications? Do not loving parents feed their children a healthy diet so that their children grow up healthy and strong?
If you smoke, do you teach them to smoke? If your drink, do you teach them to drink? If you were promiscuous as a teenager, do you teach them the same? Responsible parents don’t.
So, what are you feeding your children when it comes to their soul? Are you teaching them what your parents taught you? If so, most likely you are killing your children. Most children respect and follow their parents, even into hell. Most think that their parents did no wrong and are holier than thou.
Most prudent children grow up and usually by the time they become a parent, they have learned from their mistakes. They have traveled down many wrong roads and some have even learned that their parents are not perfect. However, knowing this, most continue to follow the examples of their parents. This might be a good thing if your parents were strong Christians living a godly life. However, most parents are lost and are not giving a good example to their children.
I over heard a friend talking about her late dad as if he knew more about the bible than most scholars. Yet, he died living in the condition of adultery and attending a denomination. Is it any wonder why she has married several times and is currently living in adultery and attends a denomination? Is it any wonder why she thinks she is a saint and expects heaven when she dies? She is doing exactly what her father did, and to her, he was a saint. As the old saying goes, “Like father like son, like mother life daughter.”
Most parents want better for their children than they had. Yet, when it comes to their salvation, they want their children to have exactly what they had. Instead of teaching their children to obey the word of God (Jn 14:15); Instead of instructing their children not to alter God’s word (1 Cor 4:6); Instead of instructing their children that God inspired every single word in the bible (2 Tim 3:16,17); Instead of instructing their children to obey the gospel of Christ (Rom 10:17 ff; Rom 10:10; Acts 2:38); Instead of instructing their children to continue in the doctrine of Christ and his apostles (Acts 2:42 f; 2 Jn 9); Instead of instructing their children to obey God rather than man (Acts 5:29); Instead of teaching them these fundamental principles of the scripture, they teach them to obey their parents over the will of God and ignore what the scriptures actually said (Mt 10:37 f; Lk 14:26).
So, I ask you, are you poisoning your children or your grand children? Yes, they will have to pay for their own sins, and even for following you over God’s Word. However, remember this__their blood is on your hands if you fail to teach them right from wrong (Ezek 33:6-9)!
