Speaking where the bible speaks, and silent where the bible is silent.

Biblical Proof Dec 20 2015

I am honestly amazed at how many preachers of the Lord’s church actually teach that Jesus made woman equal to man. I am shocked because the bible was very blunt on the subject of equality in the New Testament. In fact, the bible since the time of Adam and Eve has been quite clear on this subject. What isn’t clear is how mankind has changed over the centuries.

There was a time when man worked, woman took care of the home, and the children obeyed their parents. This evidently was called the dark ages for woman. I say that because since the days when women’s suffrage first began at the end of the 19th century, woman has been working toward equality with man. In society, woman has already made great gains in regards to equality. In fact, in some respects, they have surpassed man and made him subject to woman. This of course has entered into most every denomination and even into the Lord’s church.

Today, one will find woman preaching, teaching, and leading almost every denomination in one capacity or another. To put it as blunt as I possibly can, “I could care less!” Why do I say that? Because denominations already teach a gospel and doctrine contrary to God’s Word. In other words, they were already lost long before woman’s equality came along. This is why I could care less if denominations also condone homosexual and lesbian marriage. It is quite apparent that the bottom line for denominations is not truth but money, and they will get it by appeasing women and gays or any other means possible.

However, when it comes to the churches of Christ, I do mind. In fact, I will do my best to warn and chastise all who allow such evil into the church. The church of Christ is the last hope for mankind to be saved. Once it is gone, all hope is lost.

I see that the church for many years now has appeased women on subjects contrary to sound doctrine. They allow them to teach in the church, when God’s Word commanded women to be silent (1 Cor 14:33-40). They tell women that Jesus allows them equality in marriage and divorce. This is lethal to any woman’s soul if she believes this false doctrine. This I write in all sincerity and love to all Christian women who want to go to heaven once they die. No where in the bible did Jesus or his apostles give woman equality in marriage or divorce. This I say to all women, go to your bible and read it for yourself. Where does the scripture ever tell you that you can divorce your husband and remarry and be pleasing unto God?

Let us take a look at all of the scriptures concerning marriage and divorce and remarriage and then you decide for yourself. After all, it’s your soul.

“But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, except for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery” (Mt 5:32).

“And I say unto you, Whosoever shall divorce his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, commits adultery: and whoso marries her which is divorced commits adultery” (Mt 19:9).

“So He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her.  And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery” (Mark 10:11-12).

“Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced from her husband commits adultery” (Lk 16:18).

“For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband. So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law, so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man” (Rom 7:2-4).

“Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart (Divorce) from her husband. But even if she does depart (Divorce), let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife” (1 Cor 7:10,11).

“A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord. But she is happier if she remains as she is, according to my judgment — and I think I also have the Spirit of God” (1 Cor 7:39-40).

I have written all these verses so that you can see exactly what the bible had to say about marriage and divorce and remarriage. Jesus in Matthew 5:32 and Matthew 19:9 only allowed man to divorce and remarry and that was only if his wife had committed sexually immorality or what the KJV called fornication. All the other gospels forbid any divorce and remarriage for the man or woman. Paul made it clear, not once but twice, that any woman who married another man while her husband still lived, she shall be called an adulteress. Paul also commanded that if a woman did divorce her husband she must remain unmarried or be reconciled back to her husband. No where in all these verses will you find even the suggestion that Christ or his apostles allowed a woman to divorce her husband and remarry for any reason whatsoever and not be called an adulteress.

What has happened is that the churches of Christ has taught that women were equal to man in the marriage laws. Why not? The world says women are equal in marriage. Denominations say women are equal in marriage. I know of no church of Christ which teaches differently. I challenge anyone, by the scripture, to prove that Jesus or his apostles gave woman equality to man in the marriage law.

In fact, God placed man over woman in ALL things. God placed man over woman in the home and in the church, in all matters. Paul made it abundantly clear on this matter when he said, “But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God” (1 Cor 11:3). God placed man over woman because of the sin of Eve in the Garden of Eden (1 Tim 2:13-15). This is why man, not woman was commissioned to preach the gospel and to lead the church (2 Tim 2:2 f; 2 Tim 3:1-13). This is why man was placed over the woman in the home and why she was commanded to obey him (Tit 2:4-5). As long as Christ is the head of the church, man is the head of woman. Notice what Paul wrote to the Ephesians:  “Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything” (Eph 5:22-24).

Worldly women can gain and even overtake the authority of man. Denominational women can do the same. Neither of these subject themselves to God’s Word.  This is why there are women governors, senators, representatives, supreme court judges, and eventually a woman president. This is the same reason why denominational women rule over the man and their churches. If Christian women follow worldly women, they will be lead into eternal damnation and all who teach such a false doctrine. Christian women should follow in the steps of one named Sara and her example of obedience to her husband, even calling him Lord (1 Pet 3:6). Therefore, as Christ is subject to God in all things; As man is subject to Christ in all things; Even so must woman be subject to man in all things.

  1. Today..most women work hard N take care of the homes…while men too work…but women have upper hand in today’s world….because most women are highly qualified and brilliant in most fields…say in tech field…healthcare. Business etc…they have cone forward while men are left far behind.

I agree with over 99% of what you are saying but women teaching children who are below the age of baptism are being taught because men won’t step up to teach. When men step up, women can step down. These children need to be taught. too many are being lost because men are not being the spiritual leaders in the families or church. I pray that things will turn around before it is too late.
