Despite what most believe, very few know the kind of facts their soul needs to know to gain eternal life. Most have been lied to by their families, their friends, their churches, and by their own conscience. 2 Pet 3:5 This is the reason so many believe “faith only” saves a person. This is the reason so many believe infant baptism (Sprinkling or pouring) is sufficient for salvation. This is the reason so many believe that the covenant God gave unto Moses on Mt. Sinai can deliver one from the eternal flames of hell. This is the reason so many believe in idols for their salvation. This is the reason so many don’t even believe in God. Before your life ends, you need to hear at least once the facts of eternal life.
How To Know There Is A God
Although statistics may vary, it’s been estimated that 1/7th of the world’s population doesn’t believe in God. Some of these are the ones who believe man evolved from lesser forms into our present estate. Yet others are more than skeptical of a spiritual being that created all things which they can’t see, feel, or touch.
The bible bears record of itself that it was totally inspired of God, and that all things were created by him and for him. 2 Tim 3:16 f; Col 1:16,17 Actually, unless one can accept the fact that the bible emanated from God’s mouth to our ears via the written word no one can actually prove in the existence of God. Without that faith no man can please God. Heb 11:6 Therefore, if a person needs actual proof of God’s existence, the written word of God cannot save a person. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Rom 10:17 Therefore, the bible is our primary source of FAITH, which is our primary entrance to SALVATION. This is why so many in the Lord’s church sleeps to this very day, because they don’t believe that God inspired every word of the bible. 2 Tim 3:16,17
How To Rightly Divide The Word of God
So many people don’t know that the bible contains two primary testaments. One is old and ancient, and has been done away with, and the second is new, and is in effect today. Heb 8:13 Many intermingle, and confuse the two testaments as if they were both in effect today. Sadly enough, the scriptures instruct all who do such have fallen from grace. Gal 5:4
Many don’t know that since the beginning of time that mankind has lived under three dispensations: The Patriarchal, the Mosaic, and Christianity. The latter, Christianity was broken into two parts which confuse many till this very day. Many are confused by the transition between the Mosaical law coming to an end, and the law of Christ coming into effect. Heb 8:13 The law of Moses faded away out of necessity because many died before the gospel could have ever been published or preached to them. Ps 68:11 During this time period, prophesying, miraculous gifts, speaking in tongues, and knowledge from on high were in existence. 1 Cor 13:8-10 Once the new testament had been published, and the gospel preached unto all the world, the Christian dispensation was fully in effect, and the Mosaical law was no longer in effect. Col 1:23 ff; Gal 1:8,9; Rom 10:4
So if we hear of anyone who calls themselves a prophet, or claims they posses the ability to raise the dead, speak in tongues, or has a new revelation, know of a certainty, this CAN’T HAPPEN under our dispensation of Christianity. 1 Jn 4:1 All religions who profess these kind of things still exist today are teaching a false doctrine.
The Facts of Eternal Life
If one believes in God, if one believes all scriptures were inspired of God, and if one knows what dispensation they are in, then they are prepared to hear what the gospel that every Christian convert has heard.
The Gospel of Christ
A gospel which says that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died for our sins, was buried and raised the third day according to the scriptures. 1 Cor 15:1-4 Upon hearing this gospel one needs to do these things in order to be saved:
1. Believe with the heart that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God. Jn 8:24 f; Rom 10:9,10
2. Confess this belief with the mouth before men. Mt 10:32,33 f; Rom 10:9,10
3. Repent of their sins and turn to God. Lk 13:3 f; Acts 17:30
4. Be Baptized (Immersed) into Christ Gal 3:27 f; Rom 6:3,4
5. We are then added by Christ to His Church, the church of Christ. Acts 2:47 f; Rom 16:16
The last step is the longest and hardest step to complete, for it takes the rest of our life to complete, and that is: Faithfulness until Death. Mt 10:22 f; Rev 2:10 During this time all Christians will be persecuted, and face temptations. 2 Tim 3:12 f; Jam 1:12
One must be faithful to the assembly of the Lord’s church. Heb 10:25 One must worship the Lord in Spirit and in truth. Jn 4:23-24 We must follow apostolic doctrine which is the doctrine of Christ, which is the doctrine of God. Acts 2:42 ff; 2 Jn 9; Jn 7:16,17 The apostles met on Sunday to remember the Lord’s death, to give of their means, to hear the Word by means of preaching, and to sing and pray. Acts 20:7 ff; 1 Cor 16:1,2; Eph 5:19; 1 Tim 2:8
If there is any other thing which will lead us to eternal life
it can be surmised with these 3 things:
1. To love the Lord God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind
2. To love our neighbor as ourselves
3. To love fellow Christians even as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us. Mt 22:37-39 f; Jn 13:34
Conclusion: The truth of God does not lie, for no lie is of truth. 1 Jn 2:21 Only the truth of God can set us free from our sins, if we obey the truth and continue in it. Jn 8:31, 32 ff; Rom 6:17,18; 1 Pet 1:22 Now you know all you need to know in order to be saved, and gain eternal life, which was promised by God (who can’t lie) before the world began. Tit 1:2 All that is left is for each of us to take this knowledge, and obey it, and to teach it to all who will hear it. Jn 14:15 ff; 1 Jn 5:3; Mt 28:19,20; Mk 16:15,16; 2 Tim 4:2-5 These are the facts that will gain us eternal life when we apply them to our present estate. As always, the decision today is in your hands. 2 Cor 6:2 f; Heb 3:7 Once you have died, the decision for your eternal life will be in God’s hands, based upon his written word and your deeds. Jn 12:48 ff; Rom 2:16; 2 Cor 5:10 The gospel and doctrine of Christ won’t change to fit your life. Gal:6-9 Will you change your life to fit the law of Christ?
