Truth is truth no matter who preaches it, when it is preached, or the circumstance in which it was preached. The truth of God is unwavering, unchanging, and forever exists (1 Pet 1:23-25). Sin is still sin no matter who commits it, when it is committed, or the circumstance in which is was committed. Sin is a transgression of the law. (1 Jn 3:4). The law of God is truth, (Ps 119:142) even as the Word of God is truth (Jn 17:17). Truth and sin are complete opposites and ever challenges us as Christians.
No one tells a half truth and no one commits a half sin. Half truth is still a lie. Half sin is still sin. We are either for God or against God, and if we dare sit on the fence of right and wrong, God will vomit us out of his mouth (Rev 3:15,16)! The gospel of Christ is the truth even as Christ himself is truth, and we shall know truth and it shall set us free, if we continue in it (Jn 8:31,32). Therefore, anyone who dares to change the gospel of Christ shall be accursed (Gal 1:6-8). Anyone who continues not in the doctrine of Christ has not God (2 Jn 9). We shall all be judged by the Word of God come the day of judgment when our sins shall come to light (Jn 12:48 ff; Rom 2:16; 2 Cor 5:10). Therefore, examine yourself whether you be in the faith, because if we judge ourselves we should not be judged by God come that great and dreadful day (2 Cor 13:5 f; 1 Cor 11:31,32)!
Therefore, put off the old man and put on the new man by confessing your belief that Jesus is the Christ and repenting of your sins. Cast off your fornications, your adulteries, and your lewd behavior (Eph 4:22 f; Col 3:9). Be buried with Christ by baptism and be raised to walk in the newness of life (Rom 6:3,4). Then are you added by Christ into his One church, the churches of Christ, the pillar and ground of the truth (Acts 2:47 f; Eph 4:4; 1 Tim 3:15) . Worship God in spirit and in truth and above all this, continue faithfully in the sound doctrine of Christ and his apostles (Jn 4:23,24 f; Tit 1:9 cf; 2:1). Then and only then are you worthy of a crown of life which he gives to them that love him and keep his commandments (Jam 1:12 ff; Jn 14:15; Rev 2:10).
