If we alter the bible, it is conclusive that we will alter the gospel and doctrine of Christ. Many reject the Bible as our sole source of religious authority, and feel compelled to change it to accommodate their religious dogmas. It is for this reason that Jesus commanded that we continue in his Word (Jn 8:31). It is for this reason Paul commanded we don’t go beyond the Word (1 Cor 4:6). It is for this reason that anyone who changes the gospel shall be accursed (Gal 1:6-9). It is for this reason Peter commanded we speak the very words of God (1 Pet 4:11). It is for this reason John forbade altering God’s Word and made known to us God’s punishment if we did (Rev 22:18,19).
It is impossible to find any denominational doctrine within the pages of an unaltered new testament. The only way to find a denominational doctrine is to add the doctrines and commandments of men to it, which turn men from the truth (Tit 1:14). Every new testament convert obeyed the gospel of Christ. (Just for the record, the thief on the cross had no opportunity to obey the gospel of Christ. He lived and died and was judged according to the law of Moses.) If we use only the new testament, which Jesus said was in his blood, we will obey the exact same gospel as did the 3,000 on the day of Pentecost, as did every other Christian convert in new testament days.
It is impossible to conclude Christians met on the Sabbath to worship by reading the new testament as your source. It is impossible to conclude that Christians partook of the Lord’s Supper and gave of their means on any other day than on Sunday (Acts 20:7 f; 1 Cor 16:1-3). It is impossible to conclude that the saints used instrumental music by reading the new testament (Eph 5:19). It’s impossible to find women preachers, elders or deacons by reading the new testament (1 Cor 14:33-40 f; 1 Tim 2:11-15). It is impossible to find anyone who was saved by sprinkling or infant baptism (Acts 8:35-39). It is impossible to find anyone saved by faith only, that is, without the works of God (Jam 2:19-26). This is why denominations have their own bibles (Mormon bible, Catholic bible, Baptist bible etc). This is why denominations have their own manuals. This is why denominations write and abide by denominational lexicons and commentaries. The truth be known, the bible contradicts denominational gospels and doctrines.
Wherever there is false doctrine, you will find an altered bible. Don’t allow anyone to convince you that all scripture wasn’t inspired by God (2 Tim 3:16,17). Don’t allow anyone to twist God’s Word to say what it never said (2 Pet 3:16). Don’t allow anyone attempt to prove their belief by the philosophies of the world (Col 2:8). Don’t allow anyone tell you that the doctrines of men can be equated to the doctrine of Christ (Mt 15:7-9). No Christian was ever produced by an altered bible. No one can be saved by teaching or obeying an altered gospel or doctrine (Gal 1:6-9 f; 2 Jn 9).
