Speaking where the bible speaks, and silent where the bible is silent.

Biblical Proof

Compromise is everywhere in the world and without it, governments can’t function, businesses would crumble, marriages won’t last, and society as a whole would be in total chaos. Many a politician has gone to Washington with good intention of getting America on the right path of morality and justice, and in a short time learned democracy just doesn’t work that way. However, the Lord’s church is not a democracy. It is a theocracy, where Jesus is the head, and has the final say in all things (Eph 1:22,2 f; Col 1:18). Do you attend the church of Compromise? You may not think so, but if you attend a denomination, you do.

Where is the compromise in the gospel of Christ? Jesus said plainly, “He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; He that believes not shall be condemned” (Mk 16:16). Jesus never compromised by saying, “Believe only and you shall be saved.” He never compromised by saying, “Be baptized only and you shall be saved.” It’s hard to believe, but approximately 2 billion lost souls (Catholics and Baptists) have fallen prey to a compromised gospel and have hell as their reward.

Where is the compromise in the doctrine of Christ? John clearly wrote, “Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son” (2 Jn 9). Therefore, you can’t worship God with instrumental music and have God, for verily Paul wrote, “Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord (Eph 5:19). You can’t have women preachers, elders and deacons when Paul stipulated the qualifications of an elder and deacon as being the husband of one wife (1 Tim 3:2,12). He also affirmed that women were prohibited from teaching men or having authority over them (1 Tim 2:11,12), and in the assembly they were forbidden to be speakers (1 Cor 14:33-40). You can’t assemble to partake of the Lord’s supper or to give of your means on any other day than on the first day of the week (Sunday) (Acts 20:7 f; 1 Cor 16:1-3). As the scripture clearly affirms, “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him” (Col 3:17).

Where is the compromise come the day of judgment? Jesus said many on that day will try and bargain with him concerning his Will, but it gains them nothing. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Mt 7:21-23).

Jesus said that he was the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but by Him (Jn 14:6). That way was strait and narrow and few will find it (Mt 7:14). Yes, with mankind you may compromise, but with God, it is His Way or the highway. Don’t attend a church of compromise which leads to destruction, but rather choose to attend a church who is the pillar and ground of the truth and reveals the manifold wisdom of God (1 Tim 3:15 f; Eph 3:10). That church preaches the same gospel, and continues in the same doctrine which was taught by the apostles of Jesus Christ (Gal 1:6-9 f; Acts 2:42). That church worships God in spirit and in truth (Jn 4:23,24). That church will not compromise the truth with the doctrine of man (2 Tim 4:2-5 f; Tit 1:14). That church goes not beyond that which was written, but rather speaks only the oracles of God (1 Cor 4:6 f; 1 Pet 4:11). That church is the uncompromising “church of Christ” (Rom 1:16).
