Speaking where the bible speaks, and silent where the bible is silent.

Biblical Proof

The gospel of Christ was designed to change man, but never for man to change it. The gospel of Christ is the passport for sinners to gain entrance into the body, the churches of Christ. Only those who have obeyed the exact same gospel that was preached unto all the world have the opportunity to be saved. Mk 16:15,16 f; Mt 28:19,20  The gospel of Christ demands all who obey it to believe with the heart and confess with the mouth that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.  Rom 10:9,10 Without faith it is impossible to please God, but Faith only is not enough. Heb 11:6 f; Jam 2:24  The gospel demands all who believe to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Acts 2:38 Sprinkling or pouring is not enough. Baptism by its very definition and the way it was practiced means to immerse, or to go down into the water and come up again as did the Ethiopian Eunuch. Acts 8:38,39 We are buried with Christ by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Rom 6:4

The same applies to the doctrine of Christ. All Christians are commanded to abide by it, but never to go beyond it. 2 Jn 9 f; 1 Cor 4:6 All Christians are commanded to sing and make melody in the heart to the Lord. Eph 5:19 To add instrumental music is too much. Jesus or his apostles never commanded anyone to sing with the use of instrumental music, nor were they used in the new testament churches.

The apostles established the order of where and by whom the gospel is to be preached, and by whom the church is to be lead. Women preachers or teachers, elders or deacons are too much. Man was placed over the woman both in the family and in the church. 1 Cor 11:3 ff; Eph 5:23; 1 Tim 3:1-13 All Christian women were prohibited to be speakers in the churches. 1 Cor 14:33-40 When the church is called together, women are to be silent and if they have any questions to ask, they must be asked apart from the assembly. All women were prohibited from teaching or taking any leadership over the man. 1 Tim 2:12-14 This is both in and out of the church. Aged Christian women, sound in the faith were given order to teach younger women to love their husband and children, to be discrete, chaste keepers at home, and to obey their own husband. Tit 2:3-5 In alignment with their husband, they are to teach their own children at home. 1 Cor 6:1 No where were women given the order to violate the silence commanded by the authority of Jesus Christ in order to teach other women or children in the churches, as is practiced by most all churches of Christ today. In this they have gone too far and added to the doctrine of Christ.

Conclusion: Anyone who changes the gospel of Christ shall be accursed. Gal 1:8,9 Anyone who changes the doctrine of Christ has not God. 2 Jn 9 It doesn’t get any plainer than that!

IN TITUS 2:2-5 WHEN IT TALK ABOUT OLDER WOMEN TEACHING YOUNGER WOMEN, IS THIS AN INDICATION THAT SISTERS SHOULD HAVE THIER OWN CLASS WHEN WE COME TOGETHER ON SUNDAY? AS YOUR POSSITION HAVE ALWAY BEEN NO. PLEASE I NEED THIS ANSWER TO HELP ME GROW. THANKS BROTHER

    • One thing to consider is that Jesus commanded all women to remain silent in every church by the mouth of the apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 14:33-40. One question one needs to ask of themselves, can older women of the faith accomplish what Paul wrote to Titus outside of the church and not violate 1 Cor 14? If yes, then you have your answer. Women violate God’s prohibition of speaking by becoming teachers in the assembly. Thus, no, she can not teach younger women in the churches.
