There are many who think members of the body of Christ are a bit egoistical for proclaiming that they are absolutely right when it comes to the gospel of Christ. Some say the bible is too difficult to understand for anyone to have all the right answers. Some say that there are no definitive answers, and that the best we can do is to believe Jesus is the Christ. Are they right? Or do the scriptures say otherwise?
Trusting The Source
The most fundamental foundations of all truth is trusting God’s Word as absolute truth. Jn 17:17 To be absolute truth means that all scriptures were divinely breathed.1 Pet 4:11 Jesus verified that he was the way, the truth and the life. Jn 14:6 Paul verified that all scriptures were inspired of God. 2 Tim 3:16 The Hebrew writer verified that God can’t lie. Heb 6:18,19 If we can’t believe the source, we can’t believe the promises made. Tit 1:2 If we don’t believe the promises made, we won’t keep the commandments which grant us eternal salvation. 2 Tim 1:12
Obeying The Gospel
All true Christians trust the source of the bible, and believe it to be the inspired Word of God. As such, they can rest assured that the promises contained therein are true, and will be granted to all who obey the Will of God. Therefore, by the scriptures one can find the path that leads to life eternal. Jesus commissioned his apostles to go into all the world and to preach the gospel to every creature. Mk 16:15,16 This gospel was the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Cor 15:1-4 All who believe that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God and confess such with their mouth; Rom 10:9,10 All who repent of their sins and have them washed away by the means of baptism; Acts 2:38 And all who remain faithful to the doctrine of Christ shall be saved. Rev 2:10
Conclusion: As long as the bible emanated from God. As long the Word is truth. As long a God can’t lie. As long as the apostles were totally inspired. Jn 16:13 Then, can every faithful member of the church of Christ rest assured of their salvation_without a shadow of a doubt! As the beloved apostle Paul said, “…for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” 2 Tim 1:12
