Since the beginning of man, God has spoken to him in various of ways. (Heb 1:1,2) God has attempted to get man to do that which is right and moral in his sight. However, because mankind is so immoral, God has had to place all kinds of punishment upon them. Oddly, man is so dense, he often doesn’t understand that the evil which come upon him was from God. Therefore, he constantly repeats the same mistakes of the past.
God destroyed man first with water. Because man was so evil, God saw no other way to correct mankind but to wipe him from the face of the earth (except Noah, his wife, 3 sons, and 3 daughter-in-laws). To this very day, it is taught in most schools and universities that society vanished because of an ice age. Now, of course, mankind is absolutely wrong. Not only are they wrong, but they reject the lesson God wanted man to learn in the first place, and that is, to obey God.
God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboim, because of their abominations. The scriptures speak in some detail that these cities were committing homosexual acts and were guilty of greed. Though the ruin of these cities are still with us today, mankind reject the notion that God had anything to do with their destruction. They reject the notion that God will do to us what he did to those ancient cities.
God consistently dealt with Israel in a familiar way. When Israel disobeyed God, he brought upon them plagues, famines, diseases, and even placed them into slavery of other nations. We are reminded in the new testament of the goodness and severity of God. God cut Israel off and grafted the Gentiles into the natural tree. However, we were left with a stern warning. If we sin like Israel did, God will in turn cut the Gentiles off, and graft back in the natural branches, Israel. Rom 11:22-24
Today, we see America and other nations embracing homosexuals and lesbians as if such is normal and moral in the sight of God. Homosexuals are given in marriage and allowed to rear children and participate in society as if they are a normal family. Not even the wicked nations which were destroyed in the past allowed such acts, and yet God destroyed them completely. We see A.I.D.S. plague mankind only to see man increase in his sins. One would have to have their head covered and pretend not to notice the unprecedented weather changes in the last few years. We see diseases like Ebola which is slowly spreading all over the world, and yet, no one seems to understand that God is not pleased with mankind.
Tell me now, what does God have to do to make societies understand God? Does God have to wipe all of mankind off the face of the earth once again, as he did in the days of Noah, just to get the attention of man? Eventually, God will have to destroy the wickedness of man once and for all even as the scriptures foretell us. God has told us that there will come a day when he will destroy all of mankind by fire. (2 Pet 3:10-12) Yet, before that day, God is trying once again to speak to man. He is speaking through the tornadoes, through hurricanes, and through all kinds of earthquakes. He is speaking to us through all kinds of disease, pestilence, and famines. But, most of all, he is speaking to us through his Word, by which he has warned of all these occurrences. (Nah 1) Wake up world! Repent and turn back to God lest he does what he promised he would do, for God keeps his promises and he is able to deliver. (Rom 4:21) Repent before it is everlasting too late! Repent or perish! (Lk 13:3)
