Are You A Christian In God’s Eyes?

Are You A Christian In God's Eyes

One third of the world’s population claim that they are a Christian. Most make this claim because they believe Jesus is the Christ the Son of God, and according to the denominational world which they belong, this is enough. Others make this claim because they were sprinkled or christened as an infant and according to the Catholics this is enough. Isaiah wrote, “Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!“ Isa 5:21 Paul wrote, “For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.” And again he wrote, “Examine yourselves, whether you be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know you not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except you be reprobates (Failed the Test)?” 2 Cor 13:5  Yet let us not measure ourselves by ourselves but rather let us compare ourselves to God’s Holy Word. 2 Cor 10:12 If you have ever wondered if you are a Christian in God’s eyes, let God’s Word examine you.

How To Become A Christian

Every Christian convert after Jesus’ resurrection and the establishment of the church HEARD the exact same gospel. 1 Cor 15:1-4 Anyone who preached another gospel faced being accursed, Gal 1:6-9 Paul wrote, “FAITH comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God”. Rom 10:17 It is by the Word of God the gospel is preached. 1 Pet 1:25 Jesus said, “If you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” John 8:24 Paul stated one must CONFESS their faith, “With the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Rom 10:10-11 And Jesus said this confession must be before men. Mt 10:32,33 Jesus commanded, “Except you REPENT you shall all likewise perish.” Lk 13:3 f; Acts 17:30 Every Christian convert was baptized since the infancy of the church. On the day of Pentecost Peter and the other apostles were asked, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Peter said unto them, “REPENT and be BAPTIZED everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:37,38 Saul was commanded by Ananias to, “Arise and be baptized and wash away yours sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” Acts 22:16 Peter stated, “The like figure whereunto even baptism does also now save us” 1 Peter 3:21 Therefore we are buried with Christ by baptism into his death, and raised to walk in the newness of life. Rom 6:3,4

If anyone has not HEARD the gospel, BELIEVED and  CONFESSED Jesus is the Christ, REPENTED of their sins and were BAPTIZED into the death of Christ,  they are NOT A CHRISTIAN!

How All Christians Worship

Christ died for his church and built it on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with himself being the chief corner stone. Acts 20:28 ff; Mt 16:18 ; Eph 2:20 All Christians are added to the Lord’s church by Jesus Christ. Acts 2:47 Jesus is the head of the one BODY which was scripturally defined as the CHURCH. Eph 1:22,23 ff; Col 1:18; Eph 4:4 All Christians are baptized into the body and become members of the body of Christ also known as THE CHURCH of CHRIST. 1 Cor 12:13, 27

All Christians must worship God in Spirit and in Truth, for the Father seeks such to worship him in this manner. Jn 4:23,24 Paul stated, “These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” 1 Cor 2:13 Therefore, all Christians must worship and speak the same things because they do not go beyond what the Spirit revealed. 1 Cor 4:6 f; 1 Cor 1:10 The Spirit revealed all he had heard directly from God without any additions or subtractions to the apostles. Jn 16:13 Jesus was called the TRUTH, and he spoke nothing except God reveal it to him Jn 14:6 ff; Eph 4:21; Jn 12:49,50

All  Christians must abide by the apostles doctrine for they were divinely inspired. 2 Tim 3:16,17 ff; Gal 1:11,12 Therefore, all Christians meet on Sunday, remember the Lord’s death, hear the Word preached, sing and make melody in their heart to the Lord, and give of their means freely because such was commanded or practiced by the apostles. Acts 20:7 ff; 1 Cor 16:1,2; Eph 5:19 All other kinds of worship derive not from God, but from mankind and are to be avoided for they turn Christians from the truth. Tit 1:14

The Work Of Christians

All Christians must add to their faith, and this they do by the means of studying of God’s Word that they may grow thereby. 2 Pet 1:5-9 ff; 2 Tim 2:15 ; 2 Pet 3:18 Faithful Christian men are commanded to preach the Word in and out of season. 2 Tim 2:2 f; 2 Tim 4:2-5  Qualified Christian men are encouraged to become elders and deacons of the church. 1 Tim 3:1-13 Elders are commissioned to feed and guide the church by God’s Word of which all Christians are subject. Acts 20:28 f; Heb 13:7,17 Faithful Christian men must contend for the faith, prove all things, and be prepared to defend the gospel by the Word of God. Jude 3 ff; 1 Thess 5:21; Philip 1:15-18

Mature Christian women in the faith are commissioned to teach younger women to be responsible, to love their husband and children, to be sensible, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husband that the Word of God be not blasphemed. Tit 2:3-5 For by such actions faithful wives make their faithful husbands qualified elders and deacons.

All Christians must do good unto all mankind, especially fellow brethren. Gal 6:10 Christians must love their enemies and their neighbor as themselves. Mt 5:44 f; Mk 12:31 All Christians must come to the aid of fellow brethren who have need, (1 Jn 3:17,18) even to love one another as Christ also loved us and gave himself for us; for by this shall all mankind know we are Christians. Jn 13:34,35 Christian men must provide for their families. 1 Tim 5:8 Christian men and women must train and correct their own children in the Lord. Eph 6:1-4

What Christians Can’t Do

By the commandment of the apostle Paul, Christians are prohibited from adding to or taking from God’s Word. Rev 22:18,19 They must not go beyond that which was written, but rather speak the oracles of God. 1 Cor 4:6 f; 1 Pet 4:11 Christians are prohibited from doing the works of the flesh such as adultery, fornication and homosexuality, etc. 1 Cor 6: 9-11 f; Gal 5:19-21 Christians are prohibited from obeying the commandments and traditions of men, for this is vain worship to God. Mt 15:7-9

By the commandment of Jesus Christ, all Christian women are prohibited from being speakers in the church assemblies.1 Cor 14:33-40 By the commandment of the apostle Paul, all Christian women are prohibited from teaching men God’s Word or usurping their authority. This prohibition was because of Eve’s sin in the Garden of Eden and because man was created first. 1 Tim 2:11-15

What Happens To All Christians

All Christians are commanded to take up their cross and follow Christ. Lk 14:27 All faithful Christians will suffer persecutions for the cause of Christ. 2 Tim 3:12 f; 1 Pet 4:16  If Christians don’t do the will of God, they will not suffer persecutions, which is the offense of the cross of Jesus. Gal 5:11 All Christians will be hated and despised, even as Christ was hated, for the servant is not above their Master. Jn 15:18 f; 1 Jn 3:13; Mt 10:24,25 Yet, if we suffer, we shall all reign with Christ. 2 Tim 2:12 All Christians will suffer in the same manner. 1 Pet 5:9,10 All Christians which endure trials and temptations unto the end shall receive a crown of life. Jam 1:12 ff; Mt 10:22; Mt 24:13; Rev 2:10

All Christians along with non-Christians will be judged come the day of judgment by Jesus Christ, according to the gospel and their deeds, whether good or bad. Rom 2:16 ff; Jn 12:48; 2 Cor 5:10 However, Christians have nothing to fear if they live according to God’s commandments which were established by Christ and His apostles. The world has hell to pay for all their evil deeds and will be cast into a lake of fire which burns with fire and brimstone. 2 Thess 1:7-9 f; Rev 21:8 So, let us give ourselves a thorough examination today, so that come the day of our Final Examination we will have nothing to fear and nothing to dread.
