Gospel Suppression

In America, the right to vote is not only a constitutional amendment, but is also a a citizen’s most precious right. In certain states voter suppression has been going on to prevent minorities from voting. Teams of constitutional lawyers restored the rights for many to vote by appealing to the federal courts. I urge all who want their voice to be heard to exercise their right to vote.

All Americans also have the freedom of religion, and the constitutional right to worship God. Yet, as I witnessed such zeal for thousands of citizens of this country to vote, I wondered to myself: How many have such zeal to worship God? How many are beating at the door of the churches of Christ in order to hear the gospel. How many are seeking to be baptized into the body of Christ in order to save their mortal soul? How many lawyers are being hired to uphold the right few are taking advantage of? The sad answer is, not many.

Imagine, just for a moment, what would happen if suddenly the bible were hidden from mankind. Would there be any lines chanting, “We want the bible back”? If the bible were suddenly banned, and taken away from every human being, how long would it take for the gospel of Christ to die?

It’s a mute question when we stop and think about it. Why? Because we all have the bible in various of forms, and yet, how many are reading it, studying it, and obeying it? Is 34:16ff; 2 Tim 2:15; Jn 14:15 That’s right, not many. Mt 7:13,14 Rather than embracing the Word of God, mankind has chosen to attack it, rewrite it, and redefine it. 2 Cor 4:6ff; 1 Cor 2:13; 2 Cor 4:13

When the citizens of heaven won’t study and learn, teach, and preach, and contend and defend the Word of God, the question arises, who will? Philip 3:20 When we as members of the body of Christ are not EARNESTLY contending for the faith, how can we expect the world to even know what morality is. Jude 3

In order for worldly citizens to get what they want from their favorite politician, some will suppress the vote, some will lie, and some will use racism to divide the electorate. When the citizens of a nation votes for the candidate of their choice, they hope to gain material things such as tax breaks, social security, or grants for education. Jesus asked, What does it profit if we gain the whole world and lose our own souls. Mt 16:25-26 Some will gain the freedom to continue in their sins, while others hope to gain the right to restrict the type decadence that they don’t condone, while hypocritically justifying the kind of decadence they are guilty of . Rom 2:1-4f; Rom 2:21,22

I am not worried about the citizens of America, or any nation for that matter. All nations are under God’s power, for all power belongs to God. Ps 62:11 What I am worried about is how immoral, and destitute of the truth the citizens of Heaven have become, because they have voluntarily suppressed the bible through their apathy and refusal to learn of God. Mk 12:24; Jer 9:23,24  Truly, the only one who can take your right to heaven away from you, is YOU. The only ONES who can preach the gospel of Christ are true CHRISTIANS, and not self righteous politicians who are nothing more than alien sinners packaged as angels of light. 2 Cor 11:14,15  Preaching divisive politics, and voting for one evil candidate over another won’t gain YOU eternal life, but it could make YOU lose your eternal soul. 1 Cor 1:10 The gospel of Christ is too precious, and the cost was too high for anyone to suppress it by the preaching another gospel, the gospel of politics. All who do such shall be accursed according to the apostle Paul :But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Gal 1:8,9 A closed, unread, unstudied and never obeyed bible has no value to us. Don’t suppress the Gospel of Christ, but rather learn it, obey it, and remain faithful to it. Rom 1:16ff; Mt 11:29; 1 Jn 5:3; Rev 2:10 It’s your God given right! It’s your God given obligation! 2 Tim 4:2-5
