God’s Word Will Never Perish

God's Word Will Never Perish

Jehoiakim, king of Judah after hearing the words of God read to him by Jehudi, took a penknife, and cut the scrolls, and cast them into the fire, and burned it. Perhaps he did it because he didn’t want to hear that his kingdom would be taken from him, and his city destroyed. Yet, the Word of God was restored, and read to him again despite the attempt to destroy it. (Jer 36) How many shut their ears to bad news about themselves, and reject the possibility that they are wrong. (Mt 13:15; Acts 28:27; Act 7:54,57) The word of God was settled in heaven, (Ps 119:89) ordained and inspired of God, (1 Cor 2:7; 2 Tim 3:16) is tried and pure, (Ps 18:30; Prov 30:5), and will judge us come the day of judgment. (Jn 12:48) Shred it, Burn it, (Jer 36:23) alter it, (Rev 22:18,19) or reject it, (Jn 12:48) no matter what we do to it, God’s Word will never perish. (Mt 24:35; Isa 40:8;1 Pet 1:25) Knowing this, don’t you think its time to obey it. (2 Cor 6:2)
