Whose Side Are You On?

Whose Side Are You On?

How far would you go beyond God’s written Word? (1 Cor 4:6)
Would you go so far as to endanger your eternal life?  Many believe they not only can go beyond the Word of God, but that God gives them the approbation to do so. They believe that they can sing, and make melody not only in the heart, but also with instruments of music.(Eph 5:19; Col 3:16)  They believe that they can eat in the church, though the scriptures specifically says: “If anyone hungers, let them eat at home.” (1 Cor 11:34) They believe that the work of the church can be subcontracted to other institutions such as colleges and orphanages, etc, circumventing the authority, and responsibility of the church, and it’s elders. (Eph 4:11,12; Acts 20:28) Some believe women can lead singing, lead prayer, wait on the Lord’s table, and even teach or take authority over men. (1 Cor 14:33-40; 1 Tim 2:11-15) If one can honestly say that Christians can be saved today by doing exactly what Jesus, and his apostles did and taught, why would any sincere seeker of the Word attempt to do more, or less than them. (1 Cor 11:1; 2 Cor 12:18; 1 Pet 4:11; Eph 6:24) There is God’s side, and man’s side, but the question remains: whose side are you on? (Josh 24:14,15)
